Episode Notes

For the penultimate episode of the Summer of the Rings, Kat and Nadia journey to Misty Mountains cold to explore The Hobbit Trilogy — specifically a fan edit of the Hobbit Trilogy that cuts out much of the unwanted cruft from Peter Jackson’s version of the classic story.

In the process they revisit the classic book, discuss some of the more controversial elements of the adaptation, and evaluate what it gets right. This caps off their exploration of the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, which did so much to change summer blockbusters as we know them.

But the Summer of the Rings isn’t over! There’s one more episode left before we call it a wrap! Check back Monday to find out what it is, and as always, thank you so much for supporting the Axe of the Blood God Patreon!
