To kick off the Console RPG Quest, we’re starting with the Intellivision, Atari 2600, and Colecovision: three consoles featuring games that each take their first halting steps into the RPG genre. We explore everything from Advanced Dungeons & Dragons: Treasure of Tarmin to today’s homebrew scene. We can’t exactly pick a “best” RPG out of the bunch, since they’re all pretty primitive, but it’s a really interesting look at the early days of the genre nevertheless.
