Axe of the Blood God – The January 2022 Schedule

Welcome to 2022! It’s been exactly one year since we launched the Axe of the Blood God Patreon, and we couldn’t be more excited about Year 2. We can’t thank you enough for your support.

As always there’s lots to look forward to this month, including a brand-new pre-show and post-show, as well as the beginning of a new series where we take a deep dive into the history of the game developers that changed gaming.

Here’s what else to expect over the course of January!

Pantheon of the Blood God: Chrono Cross [January 5]

Available exclusively to subscribers at the $10 level and above, this month’s Pantheon of the Blood God focuses on Chrono Cross, and joining us is Jared Petty from Limited Run Games and Reb Valentine from IGN! As always we’ll recount its development, pick its best and worst moments, and ultimately determine whether it belongs in the Pantheon!

Game Developer Quest: FromSoftware [January 12]

Available exclusively to subscribers at the $5 level and above, it’s time for a brand-new Quest series! This one will take a deep dive into gaming’s most impactful developers and examine how they changed both RPGs and the medium as a whole for good. In honor of the latest Pantheon and the impending release of Elden Ring, we’re starting with FromSoftware! Please look forward to it!

Sharlayan Dropouts [January 26]

Available exclusively to subscribers at the $5 level, Sharlayan Dropouts Year 2 is upon us! Listen as Nadia and company take stock of Final Fantasy XIV in the wake of Endwalker among other topics pertaining to everyone’s favorite MMO.

And much more!

We’ve got lots in store for this month! We’ll be launching our pre-show and post-show for the Stars of Destiny tier, kicking off our reevaluation of the Top 25 RPGs Of All Time, and continuing our journey through the 90s in the PC RPG Quest. Thanks as always for supporting Axe of the Blood God, and we look forward to another great month (and year!) of covering role-playing games!
