About Axe of the Blood God
Kat Bailey, Nadia Oxford, and Eric Van Allen explore PC RPGs, JRPGs, MMORPGs, and all the best in the wonderful world of role-playing video games!
Axe Of The Blood God is hosted by Kat Bailey, Nadia Oxford, and Eric Van Allen, three long-time game journalists and RPG experts. The focus of each episode changes, whether reviewing new releases, reconsidering old classics, holding roundtable discussions on perennial topics, or interviewing major developers.
New episodes release every Monday, with Patrons getting access a week early and ad-free. We also host a special monthly Pantheon of the Blood episode where we delve into a popular RPG to see whether it belongs in the RPG Pantheon, and we host numerous special events such as the Summer of the Rings and the Great Final Fantasy Ranking. Older episodes can be found on Spotify and Apple Podcasts.
Kat Bailey is a journalist with more than a decade of experience in the games media. She previously served as Editor in Chief of USgamer, and her work has appeared in the Washington Post, Vice, Polygon, and Rock Paper Shotgun among dozens of other publications. In addition to hosting Axe of the Blood God, she is a senior editor at IGN. Her favorite RPGs include Valkyrie Profile, Final Fantasy VIII, Pokemon, Persona 4, and The Witcher 3.
Nadia has been writing about games for so long, only the wind and the rain (or the digital facsimiles thereof) remember her true name. She’s written for Nerve, About.com, Gamepro, IGN, 1UP, PlayStation Official Magazine, and other sites and magazines that sling words about video games. She co-hosts the Axe of the Blood God podcast, where she mostly screams about Dragon Quest.
Eric Van Allen
Eric is a journalist with several years’ experience covering games, sports, and esports. Eric is also one-half of the retrospective podcast Normandy FM. He’s currently a reporter for Destructoid. When he’s not formulating his next move in a tactical RPG, he also likes to play guitar, cook, and tinker with electronics.
